The 7th GR8 Women Awards held in Dubai
One of the most anticipated
Middle East awards show, The 7th GR8!
Women Awards were held in Dubai on April 19th at the Roda Al Bustan. Conceptualized by prominent Indian TV
personalities Anu Ranjan &
Shashi Ranjan, this was the 7th edition of the
prestigious Awards. The ceremony honored top women achievers from the Middle East right from Kuwait, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia,
Dubai, Qatar as well as India.

Founder of GR8 Women Awards “This
year, the Awards were presented to 13 women achievers, felicitating the
phenomenal work done by women in their respective fields. Right from Banking
and Finance to Healthcare, Cinema, Glamour & Humanitarian work, and the
spotlight was on women who have set a benchmark in various fields. The
highlight of the evening was International Singer / Actor &
fashionistsa Lindsay Lohan,
who was among the achievers to be felicitated.”
The event was marked by glamorous fashion shows, where the city’s top
models walked the ramp and showcased dazzling collections by renowned Indian as well as international
designers. Every year, the high fashion black tie evening attracts Dubai’s crème de la crème
including people from all walks of life such as dignitaries, industry leaders,
corporate heads, celebrities, and entrepreneurs. Some of the performers
included singing sensation Hayat
Alaoui, kids from Mariam
Othaman’s Pediatric Therapy Centre, Romanian / Bollywood actor Iulia Vantur and child
singer Mustafa Khan. Some
prominent Bollywood celebrities who graced the ocassion included Choreographer
/ Director Farah Khan, Alia Bhatt,
Vaani Kapoor, Esha Gupta & Anushka Ranjan.
“Over the years, we have received immense support and encouragement from
the diverse Diaspora of the region, as we continue to applaud women who have
gone beyond their duty to inspire and lead by example. Launched 15 years ago in
India, the GR8! Women Awards is
a platform to celebrate women achievers who have broken all barriers and set
high standards. We utilize the platform to highlight relevant issues concerning
women in the subcontinent such as female feticide, breast cancer, and
safeguarding the interest of the girl child”, added Anu Ranjan.
