Jago India Jago!
With the
fresh terror strike disrupting the normal life at the world renowned pilgrimage
town of Bodh Gaya and Mahabodhi Temple complex, the unapologetic demon of terrorism has once
again dared to raise his head high, stultifying our so- called advanced security
agencies and cock snooking every promise made by our government. Now let me
digress a bit. Oftentimes a question pops up in my mind that whether I reside
in a democratic nation or anarchy. Then, after sporadic deliberations, I reach
at the conclusion and convince myself by saying that I live in a democratic anarchy. The manner in which our government functions at least suggests so and its inexplicable sluggishness strengthens my belief manifold.
Let’s
don’t depart from the main issue anymore. Almighty God was merciful that the
heinous attack claimed the life of none. Otherwise it could have devoured lives
of drove of innocent pilgrims coming from different parts of India and abroad. Bodh
Gaya, being a UNESCO World-heritage site always asks for taut security
measurements. But when else our government has shown its determination and
vigilance to tackle with terrorism readily so this time it would? It has
designed itself in a manner wherein it awakes from its sleep only when bombs
blast unabashedly claim blameless lives. Some of my friends say it rightly,
“Life is cheap in India.”
Lapse on
security front have always been and if not dealt with proper seriousness will always
be posing immense threat to India and its residents, thus rupturing the very
fibers of our democracy and sometimes even destabilizing the integrity of our
great nation. Terror spelt on one of the holiest Buddhist shrines with
simultaneous nine low intensity bombs should be taken as an alarm. Not only our
government and authorities, but we all need to come out of our deep slumber. It
is just a matter of luck that none suffered any unfortunate damage in the bomb
blasts. It might be a fluke. But mind it we cannot be saved every time by a
fluke. Jago India Jago!!!
