Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Rakes In 100 Crores

Much has been written about the Bollywood’s 100 Crore Club. Every Bollywood biggie - be it an actor, director or producer - wants to be a part of this most coveted and highly prestigious club, which includes 21 films that have surpassed 100 crore marks at the Box Office so far. Some sensible and some insensible films have been a part of this elite club. Star power rather than the content has played a crucial role in bringing films to 100 crore club. But, with the latest entrant to this coveted club, which is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s magnum opus Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the scenario seems to be changing. It won’t be an exaggeration and I am sure most of you people will agree with me if I say that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is the most sensible film that has embellished the distinguished 100 Crore Club of Bollywood.

Sublime content and heart-rending acting from all the main characters, especially Farhan Akhtar, has leveraged the film to this level. In addition to this, tax free status accorded to the film from several states government has also helped the movie to achieve this desirable feat. Kudos to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar for manufacturing and polishing such an intense piece of art on the celluloid!

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is the third film that has made it to the club, the first two being Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Race 2 and Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwaani. A hoard of movies are lined up which have potential to adorn Bollywood’s 100 Crore Club. Some of them being Chennai Express, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara! Besharam, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3.
