Genie of Ayodhya Ram Mandir
In
2014, India will be elatedly participating in the biggest carnival of
democracy. A new redeemer (Prime Minister) will be chosen to take in his hands
the reigns of the world’s largest democracy. Various political parties have
begun finalizing their strategies to perform better than the last General
Election that took place in 2009. Some have devised new plans of action
whereas some are still lingering delightfully over the name of Ram.
One
thing I have never been able to understand is that why the genie of Ayodhya Ram
Mandir comes out of the magic lamp when there is an election in sight. No
matter it is a General Election or an Assembly Election, Ayodhya Ram Mandir
genie makes its presence felt ferociously, especially in the state which is
home to the birthplace of the most revered Hindu God Ram, Uttar Pradesh.
With
an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, some leaders have begun chanting Ram-Naam once again and mind it that this
is done not to show respect to their revered Lord, but to fulfill their
political ambitions. An Election Campaign Committee Chief of a leading Indian
political party promises the bhartiya janta that a grand Ram temple will be built
soon after his political party reaches New Delhi.
It
is not a secret whoever has been successful in soaring high in Uttar Pradesh in
General Elections, goes on to adorn the coveted throne of power in Center in
New Delhi. Capturing power at the Centre is not a walk on the cake. But
yes, if majority of seats are conquered in this most populous Indian state,
half battle is understood to be won.
Everything
is possible in love and war, and if that happens to be a political war and that
too in India then stakes are always high. One can stoop to any low to attain
meteoric rise and gain democratic power – power that is used solely for one’s
own behoofs and interests not for the welfare of the common man. I am not
biased and not at all adulating any particular political party over other, but
one thing that I firmly want is that spare our deities in this fatal game of
power and ambition. Unemployment, education, women upliftment and equal human
rights to everyone irrespective of cast, creed and color are some issues that
can be used to win elections and show the entire world that we are truly a
democratic nation.
